PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping apparatus capable of improving the delivery of a container from a container supply section and further improving the delivery of the container to a container discharge section, and preventing the disengagement of the container when it is delivered. SOLUTION: The capping apparatus 1 has a construction that a cap is mounted to a container B received from a container supply section and that thereafter, the capped container B is sent out to a container discharge section. The capping apparatus 1 includes a container transfer means 2 formed into a disc shape for rotationally transferring the capped container B, turning round with a disc axis L as a center, while holding a mouth of each capped container B by each of holding parts 2a formed at a circumferential edge of the container transfer means 2, and a capping unit 4 provided above the container B transferred by the container transfer means 2 and provided movably in the direction in which it is engaged with and disengaged from the container B to perform the capping to the container B. Receiving stands 5 for setting the container B thereon are provided under the container transfer means 2 in such a manner as to be capable of ascending and descending.
