PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a high print quality over wide voltage and temperature ranges by correcting print energy loss at the time of low voltage and low temperature. SOLUTION: A high quality print is realized over wide temperature and voltage ranges by performing a control for correcting a power conduction pulse time, calculated by a power conduction time calculating means based on the temperature data and drive voltage data of a thermal head detected by a temperature detecting means and a voltage detecting means, using the energy loss factor of the thermal head due to heat dissipation calculated by an energy loss calculating means based on the data from the temperature detecting means and the voltage detecting means.
