In a blow moulding process producing 3-dimensional products with a low scrap rate a gripper places the preform in an open tool cavity(8) of a blowing mould(1) without a closure unit. Slides(5a,5b) with complementary cavity parts(8a,8b) are moved together to close the cavity(8) and apply the closure force while the preform is inflated. Process equipment includes a blowing machine with a split sliding blowing tool(1) having individual, opposing slides(5a,5b) with part cavities(8a,8b). |
