PURPOSE:To form and erase an image in a good contrast by providing a reversible thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor a reversible developer and a compd. represented by a specific chemical formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:A dye precursor, a reversible developer and a compd. represented by formula (wherein A is a substituted or non-substituted aromatic or heterocylic ring and R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group) are mixed in a predetermined ratio and this mixture is added to and mixed with an aq. soln. of a water-soluble binder resin such as polyvinyl alcohol to prepare a coating soln. which is, in turn, applied to a support such as synthetic paper or a plastic film and dried to obtain a reversible thermal recording material having a reversible thermal recording layer. As a concrete example of the compd. represented by the formula, there are N-phenyl-N'-n-octylurea, N-phenyl- N'-n-dodecylurea and N-(p-methylphenyl)-N'-n-tetradecylurea. |
