PURPOSE: An auto-cranking control apparatus in starting and a method thereof are provided to improve convenience and endurance of a battery and an alternator by automatically controlling cranking stop in starting. CONSTITUTION: An auto-cranking control device in starting is composed of a key switch state detecting unit(2) detecting connection of a key switch(1) and a start terminal; an engine state detecting unit(8) detecting starting; a cranking time detecting unit(3) detecting cranking time by driving a start motor(4); an electronic control unit(5) outputting a driving signal to a cranking relay(6) in connecting a driving terminal of the key switch to the start terminal, and turning off the relay in starting completely or in case of cranking time to be over limit time; the cranking relay applying voltage from a battery(7) to the start motor; and the start motor starting the engine by driving a flywheel in turning on the cranking relay. Performance in restarting the engine is improved with automatically controlling cranking.
