PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HUMAN ERYTHROPOIETIN(HEPO)

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing human erythropoietin(hEPO) having high sialic acid content to increase hEPO activity in vivo. CONSTITUTION: The process for preparing human erythropoietin(hEPO) comprises the steps of: culturing a cell line(KCTC 0181BP) transformed with a recombinant human erythropoietin(hEPO) gene in a medium in the presence of N-acetylmannosamine and/or 2,3-dihydro-2-deoxy-N-acetylneuraminic acid by serum-free flask culture or serum free roller culture; and purifying the produced human erythropoietin(hEPO) from the cultured medium by adsorption chromatography, hydrophobic chromatography, anion exchange chromatography and fast performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).
