PURPOSE: A release apparatus of a rack chock for a jack-up excavator is provided to separate leg cords and rack chocks simply by releasing the locking rack chock with using a worm gear assembly, and to move the rack chock assembly easily by rotating a toothed wheel. CONSTITUTION: A rack chock release apparatus is composed of a worm gear assembly(30) interlocking with a rack chock(24), and a rotational force supply unit applying rotational force to the worm gear assembly. The rack chock is released from the contact surface by moving the rack chock with converting rotational force into the linear motion of the rack chock through the worm gear assembly. The worm gear assembly has a toothed wheel, and a worm gear member engaged with saw teeth of the toothed wheel to transmit rotational force to the toothed wheel. The shaft of the toothed wheel is interlocked with the rack chock, and the rack chock is separated from the contact surface of the leg cord in rotating the toothed wheel.
