PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively prepare in a high yield a PPS resin which has a low crystallization speed and generates little gas. SOLUTION: In the PPS resin, the melt peak temperature obtained by DSC is from 270 to 290 deg.C, and the loss when heated at 320 deg.C for 2 hr is <=0.55 wt.%. After the PPS is recovered through quenching, it is washed with hot water, filtered and washed with an aqueous solution containing a metal element belonging to the group II of the periodic table. |
