PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for distributing multicast packets that make it possible to freely set an area able to receive distributed packets. SOLUTION: In the multicast distribution method, a distribution sender host transmits packets to a multicast group in one domain and transfers the packets to the domain via a communication node at the outside of the domain according to a procedure of uni-cast routing processing, and a prescribed communication node in the domain receiving the packets transfers the packets from the communication node at the outside of the domain to a distribution destination host of the multicast group according to a procedure of the multicast routing processing.
