PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the reproduction control circuit of a disk player in which a pause function can be realized with simple constitution and also a response corresponding to the operation of a pause key is instantly performed. SOLUTION: When the digital audio compressed data recorded on an optical disk 2 are read out and the audio compressed data are reproduced, a reproduced audio output signal instantly can not be obtained by stopping the reading of the audio compressed data from a memory 22 in accordance with the operation of the pause key in a key entry operating part 8 and, also, when the memory 22 is fully occupied, the reading of the audio compressed data from the optical disk 2 is stopped and the disk player is controlled to be in a standby state. When the pause is released, the reading operation from the memory 22 is resumed.
