PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition having excellent heat resistance and flame retardancy, not forming any noxious gas when burnt, and having good mechanical properties, and to provide a wire using the composition as the covering material. SOLUTION: The problem in the above burning can be solved by using a resin composition prepared by compounding 100 pts.wt. base polymer comprising 30-60 pts.wt. polyethylene and 40-70 pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and/or ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer with 60-120 pts.wt. metal hydrate, 1-5 pts.wt. tin compound, and at most 5 pts.wt. red phosphorus and crosslinking the resulting compound. |
