PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having good conveyability in heat development, free of insufficient exposure and unevenness in density in the exposure of a PS plate, having excellent dot reproducibility of an image obtained by heat development and has aγvalue for high contrast and stably giving an excellent image and to provide a processing method for the material. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material having an image recording layer containing the silver salt of an organic acid, photosensitive silver halide, a binder, a contrast enhancer and a reducing agent on the base, and the difference in dimensional change in 1 hr after heat development and that in 24 hr is <0.02%.
