PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the slow speed feeding of a pickup without hunting even when a gear ratio of a slide feeding mechanism of the pickup is large. SOLUTION: The player is furnished with the pickup 1 having a tracking actuator coil 1a, a feed motor 10 for moving this pickup 1, and a microcomputer 6 for producing a driving signal of the tracking actuator coil 1a in accordance with a reading signal of a recording medium outputted from the pickup 1. On the basis of the driving signal of the tracking actuator coil 1a, a pulse voltage, the voltage value of which is gradually increased, is produced by the microcomputer 6, an analog switch 7, a variable voltage source 8 and motor driver 9, as the driving signal for moving the pickup 1. By supplying the pulse voltage to the feed motor 10, the pickup 1 is fed with the slow speed.
