PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a water-cooled engine, capable of improving fuel economy and heater performance by preventing wasteful operation of a fan, while suppressing pump power for circulating cooling water. SOLUTION: The water-cooled engine cooling device 1 is provided with a radiator 7 for communicating the cooling water flowing out from the engine 2 in a tube 6 arranged between headers 4 and 5 and cooling the cooling water, a motor-driven pump 8 which is driven independently of the engine 2 and circulating the cooling water in the engine 2 and the radiator 7, a temperature sensor 9 for detecting cooling water temperature inside the engine 2, and a controller 15 for controlling driving of the motor-driven pump 9, on the basis of a temperature detected value. When the detected temperature is 105 deg.C or higher, the controller 15 controls the drive of the motor-driven pump 8, so that the flowing state of the cooling water communicated in the tube 6 falls within a range of transition zone between a laminar flow zone and a turbulent flow zone, and a turbulent flow zone which approaches the transition zone and the cooling water is circulated at a predetermined flow rate.
