PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a manufacturing facility and to improve utilization factor of a material, in the manufacturing the exhaust valve of a diesel engine for a large ship. SOLUTION: The valve 1 is formed by separately manufacturing an umbrella part 2 and a stem part 3 and integrating them through flash-butt welding. The umbrella part 1 is made of a nickel-based heat-resistant alloy of precipitation hardening type and is forge molded.
