PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic resin member which is capable of preventing peeling of a plating even if the appearance part of the synthetic resin member is subjected to plating without performing the removal of a parting line arising in molding and to provide the synthetic resin member which can prevent peeling of the plating of the synthetic resin member even when the plating surface of the synthetic resin member is accidentally flawed during use. SOLUTION: The synthetic resin member which is subjected to plating on the surface of the synthetic resin and of which the thickness of the plating layer is >=50. Further, the synthetic resin member which is subjected to plating on the surface of the synthetic resin and of which the thickness of the plating layer is 50 to 200μm. If the synthetic resin member is formed in the manner described above, the entire part of the synthetic resin member is eventually covered with a thicker metallic film and therefore the change in the behavior of the boundary between the synthetic resin and the plating brought about by heat and cold is restrained and since the thermal stress generated in the plating layer by a difference in the coefficient of linear expansion between the synthetic resin and the plating is relieved, the plating is more hardly peelable.
