PURPOSE: A multi function electronic key and a control method and apparatus using the same are provided, which can control a number of systems using one electronic key. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver unit(11) receives every kind of information request signal from a control device(20), or transmits at least one signal of a system code selected by the control device, an electronic key ID(MAC address), a control device ID(MAC address), a control code, a user authentication information and additional information of electronic key to the control device. An input unit(15) receives inputs for generating the user authentication information and the system code as to a system to be controlled and the control code from the user. A storing unit(14) stores at least one of the user authentication information inputted through the user and the electronic key ID(MAC address) and the additional information of the electronic key and the control device ID(MAC address) transmitted from the control device. A control unit(13) reads response information as to the request signal from the storing unit and then transmits it to the control device through the transceiver unit, and controls the transceiver unit to transmit the system code to the control device together with the electronic key ID(MAC address). And a metallic key can control the system by being combined with the control device mechanically.
