PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cephalosporin compound, or its pharmaceutical acceptable salt, excellently absorbable through the digestive tract when orally administered, capable of exhibiting enough antibacterial action against a wide variety of kinds of bacteria, and extremely useful as a prophylactic/remedial agent for infectious diseases (especially, bacterial infectious diseases). SOLUTION: This cephalosporin compound is expressed by the general formula (I) (R<1> is H or an amino-protecting group; R<2> is H, a lower alkyl or a hydroxy-protecting group; R<3> is carboxyl which may be esterified; and R<4> is thiazolyl which may be substituted). The compound or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt is used in a medicinal composition.
