PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high performance electron emission characteristics and high frequency drive by making uniform the gap between the cathode wiring having an electron source and the control electrode, and making thin the thickness of the insulating layer interposed between the both, or making deletion of this insulating layer. SOLUTION: The control electrode 4 comprises a large diameter hole 4c on a plate shape member and is formed of opening holes 4a for electron passage at the bottom part. And, by the size of thickness in the thickness direction of the opening holes 4a, the gap between the cathode wiring and the control electrode 4 is regulated.
