Edge section for winter sports equipment using two partial sections made of different materials and welded together at their longitudinal ridges

An edge section for winter sports equipment comprises two partial sections (1, 2) of different materials connected angularly to each other by welding of their longitudinal ridges and subjected to a hardening and/or tempering treatment at least in the region of the weld (4). One of the partial sections is made in an easily machineable steel and the other is made from a wear resistant steel. Holes may be cut in the anchoring limb and discontinuities incorporated in the weld to confer improved flexibility.
