PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording and reproducing device provided with an automatic continuous reproducing function which stores a plurality of recording mediums and automatically continuously reproduces recorded images reserved and recorded in the recording mediums. SOLUTION: A controller 2 extracts reserved and recorded image data from a storage part 6 after confirming that DVDs have been loaded, and the controller 2 gives pointer numbers to these data to generate an automatic reproducing table for reserved and recorded images and stores this table in the storage part 6 together with the total number of recorded DVDs. The controller 2 searches data on DVDs based on the generated automatic reproducing table for reserved and recorded images and makes a recording and reproducing part 7 reproduce this data. Till the number of DVDs the data of which is reproduced reaches the total number of recorded DVDs, reserved and recorded image data is retrieved to continuously play-back all the loaded DVDs. The automatic reproducing table for reserved and recorded images, which is stored in the storage part 6 and reserved and recorded image data are erased after all the reserved and recorded images are reproduced, and then automatic reproducing processing for reserved and recorded images is terminated.
