PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device, by which the disks in the wide category such as a deflected disk, etc., in addition to a standard disk are played back. SOLUTION: A plurality of values about the characteristic constant of any one among a tracking servo, focus servo and thread servo of an optical pickup, or the characteristic constant of a spindle servo is stored in a nonvolatile memory 7, and the value of the above characteristic constant is selectively used when the disk 8 is recorded or played back.
