PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arithmetic unit of insulation distance capable of easily and exactly calculating the insulation distance by saving labor to be taken in calculation of the insulation distance according to nationwide safety standards. SOLUTION: In the arithmetic unit of the insulation distance having an input means 1, a name storage means 2 to store names of the safety standards, a calculation procedure storage means to store calculation procedures of the insulation distance determined by every safety standard, a display means 4 and a control means 5, when input of a selection instruction of a name of the safety standard by the input means 1 is detected, the control means 5 reads the calculation procedures corresponding to the instructed name of the safety standard among the calculation procedures stored in the calculation procedure storage means 3, displays an input request of data to be required in the read calculation procedures on the display means 4, calculates the insulation distance according to the read calculation procedures when the input of the data according to the input request by the input means 1 and displays its calculation result on the display means 4.
