METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING OMISSION OF VEHICULAR SPEED PULSE, ON-VEHICLE NAVIGATION SYSTEN, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect an omission in a vehicular speed pulse, in an on-vehicle navigation system provider with a vehicle speed sensor. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle navigation system is provided with a radio wave positioning device and the vehicle speed sensor for self-contained positioning. This method for detecting the omission of the vehicular speed pulse in the vehicular speed pusle generated by the vehicle speed sensor includes the first calculation process for calculating the first physical quantity of a prescribed kind such as a speed based on a radio wave positioning data in the radio wave positioning device, the second calculation process for calculating the second physical quantity of the prescribed kind the same as the first physical quantity, based on the vehicular speed pulse, and a detection process for detecting the omission of the vehicular speed pulse using as a detection condition an inconsistency generated between the calaculated first and second physical quantities.
