PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the nonuniformity of substrate gaps and improve the liquid crystal display quality by devising the electrode pattern formed on the surface of the substrate which constitutes the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates 3a and 3b bonded with a sealing material 2, and a plurality of electrodes 9a and 9b formed on the inner side surfaces of those substrates. The electrodes 9a have portions of wiring 17a and 17b which pass the sealing material 2 and extend to a substrate extension part 4a, and dummy patterns 19a which pass the sealing material 2 in the opposite side of the wiring portions 17a and 17b. The dummy patterns 18a have a width narrower than that of the electrode 9a in a region surrounded by the sealing material 2 and preferably have the same width as the wiring 17a. |
