SOLUTION: The hardware of a digital broadcasting receiver is provided with a mode switching information storage register 6, an initialization signal generating means 5, and a mode switching processing means so that it is possible to switch an indian mode different for each operating system. At the time of downloading an operation system, the indian mode information is precedingly downloaded, and the mode of the processing means is switched at the time of initialization so that the operation system can be downloaded in an environment matched with the indian mode of the operation system.
