PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the user to easily select and designate either dehumidifying operation, which is used for the purpose of creating comfortable environment at sleeping, or dehumidifying operation, which is used for the purpose of drying wash, in an air conditioner. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is equipped with a first dehumidifying operation mode where a compressor 1 and an outdoor fan 10 are controlled to materialize the operation of bringing about comfortable environment at sleeping and the air volume of an indoor fan 12 is put to a preset low quantity and a second dehumidifying operation mode where the compressor 1 and the outdoor fan 10 are controlled to materialize the operation for drying wash and the air volume of the indoor fan 12 is put to a preset high air volume so that the air current may spread to a wide range, and this is equipped with a function of selecting and designating either of the first and second dehumidifying operation modes.
