PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material whose scrap can be easily disposed to be easily laid over an object. SOLUTION: The packing material is rectangular with a slit-like cut 8 in the longer side. A V-shaped notch 11 is formed either in the inner periphery 9 or in the outer periphery 10 formed by the slit-like cut 8, and an end of the slit-like cut 8 is a hook-shaped cut 16. As the ends of the slit-like cut 8 are hook-shaped, there are no scraps at the ends, so that the packing material can be easily produced.
