PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a herbicidal composition having excellent fast-acting properties and persistence of effects and exhibiting high effects even on hardly controllable weeds and a herbicidal method by which an active ingredient can efficiently be utilized. SOLUTION: This herbicidal composition is characterized as comprising pyraflufen-ethyl as a first ingredient, an organophosphorus herbicidally active compound such as N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, 4-[hydroxy(methyl)phosphino]- DL-homoalanine or a salt thereof as a second ingredient and a pyrimidine or a triazine acetolactate synthase(ALS) inhibitory type herbicidally active compound as a third ingredient.
