PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage or malfunction of a finisher for a printer by prohibiting binding by the finisher when binding of printed paper is impossible. SOLUTION: The finisher for the printer is installed near a branching passage 8 of the printer 1, and it is provided with a processing tray 43 holding the printed paper P fed from the branching passage 8 and a stapler device 66 for binding the printed paper P. A sensor PS1 detecting a side rim part of the printed paper P is provided for prohibiting binding of the printed paper P by the stapler device 66 when the printed paper P has a size other than a predetermined size.
