PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow processed food for heating to be heated uniformly in a heating method according to the food irrespective of a manufacturer of the food and a type of a microwave oven used by the manufacturer. SOLUTION: The high frequency heater 1 includes an information reading means 5 for reading information on a water content and a target temperature of the food 2 to be heated, a high frequency generator 6, a controller 7 for controlling activation of the generator 6 according to the information input by the means 5, and a temperature detecting means 8 for detecting a surface temperature of the food 2. All these means are built in. The information on the water content and the target temperature is read by the information reading means 5, and the controller 7 controls an output of the high frequency generator 6 according to the information read by the means 5.
