PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester or a polyamide composition with a low remaining aldehyde content. SOLUTION: When prepared by extrusion molding, a blend of a polyester such as a poly(ethylene phthalate) PET or a polyamide with a hydroxylamine stabilizer, a substituted hydroxylamine stabilizer, a nitron stabilizer, or an amine oxide stabilizer, exhibits a lower remaining aldehyde content than a polyester or a polyamide independently treated for the same purpose. The present invention relates to any and all polyesters or polyamides used for the production of moldings, fibers, and films which are, for example, bottles and containers for conserving consumer materials, for example, foods, beverages, and drinking water.
