PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely and permanently prevent generation of friction sound by simple construction without increasing the number of parts or increasing man-hours in a partition wall of a dry type construction method composed of framework members of steel studs, runners, board material, etc. SOLUTION: This partition wall structure for the dry type construction method comprises constitution in which construction surface material is installed on the framework members including the upper and the lower runners and studs. On a back surface at an upper end part of the construction surface material 2 facing the upper runner 12, a retracted surface 20 retracted from the back surface is formed. A gap 21 to prohibit friction contact between a side edge part 19 of the upper runner and an upper end part of the construction surface material is formed between the side edge part and the back surface of the upper end part of the construction surface material.
