In a pharmaceutical composition (I) for strengthening the immune system, comprising dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and a fatty acid mixture (FAM) mainly consisting of linoleic and stearic acids, the weight ratio of DHEA to FAM is more than 5 but not more than 16. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a (I)-containing medicament for use as above, where the weight ratio of DHEA to FAM is determined as a function of the body mass index (BMI) range; and (2) preparation of the medicaments.
