PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct correction with respect to a plurality of grey level processing modes by automatic grey level correction processing at one try without increasing the scale of circuit. SOLUTION: An image processing section 105 is provided with a test pattern generating section 106 that generates a plurality of test patterns for parameter correction, gradation processing section 108 that applies grey level processing to an output from the test pattern generating section 106 to form the processed patterns on different areas on a transfer material, an image forming section 109 that forms an image of the test patterns processed by the grey level processing section 108 onto the transfer material by each parameter, an image read section 104 that reads an image on the transfer material formed by the image forming section 109 and converts the image into digital image data, and a grey level processing parameter correction section 114 that corrects a grey level processing parameter based on a value read by the image read section 104. The grey level processing section 108 selects a setting value corresponding to an area among setting values corresponding to the test pattern area on the transfer member on which a plurality of sets of images are formed and applies grey level processing to the image by using the selected setting value. |
