PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly lubricate each component of an engine by reducing oil accumulation in a valve chamber, even if an engine is tilted in any manner and preventing increase of oil consumption amount, exhaustion of white smoke from an exhaust port, and early deterioration of the oil. SOLUTION: In this four-cycle engine, which uses an alternation operation of intake or exhaustion following pressure variation of a crank chamber 6 by reciprocation of a piston 11, the oil in an oil reservoir is fed to the each component of the engine including the valve chamber 27, and again returned to the oil reservoir. One end on the valve chamber 27 side of an oil reflux passage for connecting the crank chamber 6 to the valve chamber 27 is provided with oil suction pipes 61 and 62 opening near the proximity of an intake valve 28 and an exhaust valve 29 in the bottom part of the valve chamber 27. Therefore, even when the bottom surface of the valve chamber 27 is tilted due to tilting of the engine, the oil which accumulates in the valve chamber 27 can be sucked from the oil suction pipes 61 and 62 and can be speedily returned to the oil reservoir.
