The sun shield device has a flat sun shield surface formed in one or more parts, provided with a matrix of organic light-emitting diode elements, controlled via an electronic control circuit. The light-emitting diode elements can be mounted on rigid carriers provided by the slats of a slatted blind or the rails of a roller shutter, or on flexible carriers provided by the surfaces of a sun blind or a roller blind.
