In addition to calibrating the distance between a stop-plate (5) and an operating tool (2) on machines, a setting gauge (7) calibrates the reference measurement between stop-plates and the machining tool. The calibration system consists of a setting gauge and a stop-guide (4) supporting the stop-plate. The guide has a measuring arrangement (6) for determining the distance between the machining tool and the stop-plate. The angled position of the guide can be altered.
