The foil (1.1) is positioned beneath a suction and heating plate (1.4) and drawn into a raised position (1.2). After brief heating the pressure difference is reversed and the foil lowered on to a bed (1.5) on which the item (1.6) to be laminated is fixed. Further suction ensures total coverage.
