Measurement instrument has a display on which dialogue windows (41a-41c) can be displayed. The instrument has a number of function units with a number of adjustment parameters settable for each function unit. Setting of the parameters is achieved using a control device and each newly opened dialogue window is assigned a display button (37a-f) with the purpose of the button shown by icons (52a-c) in a management bar (35). Selection of a button brings the corresponding window to the front of the display. Independent claims are made for: (1) a method for managing the dialogue windows of a measurement instrument; (2) a computer program for implementation of the method.
