The invention concerns a method for regenerating hydrochloric and/or sulphuric acids from an aqueous solution containing metals, characterised in that it comprises the following successive steps which consist in: extracting the acid to be regenerated by contacting the aqueous solution containing metals with an organic solvent, said organic solvent containing at least an amine and optionally at least an organic acid; separating the organic and aqueous phases; and extracting the acid to be regenerated by contacting the organic phase recovered at the preceding step with water.
