A remedy and/or preventive for diseases due to myelopathy which contains as the active ingredient a compound represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein Y represents sulfonyl or carbonyl; R<1> and R<2> each represents hydrogen, alkyl, or -X-A-(R<4>)n, or NR<1>R<2> represents a heterocycle; R<3> represents OH, alkyl, etc.; and m is an integer of 0 to 4), a nontoxic salt of the compound, or a hydrate of the compound. The compound represented by the general formula (I), nontoxic salt, and hydrate are useful for the treatment and/or prevention of myleopathic diseases, e.g., spinal cord injury, spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury, or central nervous system disorders accompanying these.
