The connection device has a housing (2) within which there are pair of quadrant elements (3) that sit on a pivot pin (18) around which there are coil torsion springs (4) . The edge of the quadrants are serrated. When electrical cables are inserted through holes (6) the springs force the elements into contact. Any axial load on the cable is resisted by the serrations digging into the cable.
