The control unit for brake fluid comprises an aluminum block (11) containing a bore (18) in which a piston (19) is mounted. This divides it into an atmosphere chamber and a liquid chamber. The piston is connected to an aluminum cap (21) for the bore by a spring (20). The cap has a vent hole (25) which connects it to the atmosphere chamber.
