The device has a long distribution body (110) with gas intakes (120) and a longitudinal gap (130) to generate a mainly flat gas flow. A diffuser element (140) is positioned between gas intake/s and gap, to diffuse the gas flow coming in through the intakes, along the distribution body. The element is a mainly flat baffle plate, with a surface larger than the size of the intake, and located next to the fluid intake across the flow direction. It may be a flat net or grid, or a textile element, esp. of metal or high temperature-resistant plastic, and is welded to an inner metal wall of the body.
