Meat pickling assembly has pneumatic-operated delivery valve interrupting fluid supply during pre-chosen phase

A pickling assembly has a needle register (10) which is raised and lowered into meat (12) and delivers pickling fluid from a reservoir (20) via a valve (30). Needles are withdrawn from the meat with the help of a fixed cross-bar (16). The delivery valve (30) is operated by a piston (62) esp. pneumatically independently of the cross-bar mechanical operation (16). The valve (30) has an elastic link (58) which is under pressure in the end-position, and is moved to the reverse position by compressed air applied to a piston (62) and plunger (60). The link (58) moves axially in a pressure cylinder (54) through which the piston slides (62). The plunger (60) projects from the cylinder. In a preferred embodiment, the valve has an elastic O-ring seal which facilitates low-friction movement.
