COHERENT LASER RADAR DEVICE

A coherent laser radar device using an optical detector as one system and eliminating a blind zone, comprising a pulse laser for oscillating at a single frequency identical to or in the vicinity of an output light from a local light source, a transmitting/receiving optical system for applying a pulse laser light toward a target and receiving scattered light from the target, an optical mixing means for mixing an output light from the local light source with a received light, an optical detecting unit for subjecting the mixed light to optical coherent detection, and a signal processing unit for computing target speed and distance from the detected output, wherein the optical detecting unit has an optical detecting element for performing an optical coherent detection, a microwave switch for switching among propagation paths for an output from the optical detecting element, a microwave amplifier, and a switch control means for switching a microwave switch so that pulse light prior to a reference time can be transmitted as monitor signals and pulse light after the reference time can be transmitted as reception signals, the reference time being a time at which a pulse light from the pulse laser finishes passing the transmitting/receiving optical system.
