<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for treating waste gas, by which the waste gas treating capacity of the device is sufficiently used by applying the whole area of a reactor, such as a desulfurizing column to the absorption reaction of acidic gas, such as sulfur oxides and chlorine compounds. CONSTITUTION:For example, a desulfurizing agent 5 is fed into boiler waste gas in a suspended state and further cooling water 7 is sprayed to absorb and remove sulfur oxides in the waste gas in a desulfurizing column 2. In the case the flow rate of the waste gas detected by a waste gas flow rate detector 20 in a desulfurizing column inlet duct 3 is reduced, the spraying quantity of cooling water 7 is reduced and also the diameter of water droplets is increased. In the case the quantity of the waste gas is increased, the spraying quantity of the cooling water is increased and also its water droplet diameter is reduced. The evaporation of the cooling water 7 sprayed from a spray nozzle 8 is completed at the outlet of the desulfrizing column 2 to effectively use the effective evaporation distance held by the desulfurizing column 2, for example, by making the diameter of its droplets large. Consequently the whole region of the desulfurizing column 2 is applied to the absorption reaction of sulfur oxides.</p> |
