A vehicle door handle has a pull part 1 for grasping by the hand, door surface mountings 5 and 12, barrel lock 8 housed within a push button 2 which is urged outwardly by spring 3. The push button 2 is mounted in cavity 2a of the handle body. The push button periphery has an annular channel 2b which houses a rolling O-ring 9. The O-ring 9 forms a seal between the base of the channel 2b and the inside wall surface of the cavity 2a. The width of the channel in the direction of movement of the push button is of a sufficient dimension to ensure that the O-ring can roll along the channel base between the base and the cavity wall for at least the operative stroke of the button. The O-ring is compressed radially to attain the rolling effect and a good seal. |
