1,152,789. Centrifugal casting. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE A.G. 7 July, 1967 [22 Aug., 1966], No. 31493/67. Heading B3F. [Also in Division B5] A centrifugal casting mould 1 is adapted to cast pipes or rings of a length shorter than the mould by forming refractory rings 7 on the inside of the mould and between which the required length of pipe is cast. The rings 7 are formed by centrifugally casting a liquid refractory material between a mould plate 6 and backing plate 5 mounted on the end of a spacing tube 4 that is located in the mould 1 by a flange 3. The mould plate 6 is subsequently removed and a pipe cast between the rings 7 while the backing plate 5, tube 4 and flange 3 remain in the mould. The spacing tube 4 is exchangeable for tubes of differing length depending on the length of pipe to be cast. |
